Picture This Designs is owned and operated by Paulette Johnson and located near Fort Dodge, Iowa. My clients are located all over central Iowa – and beyond! I will work with you to create a partnership no matter where you’re located.

In the beginning:

It started with photos taken with various film cameras. My first "real" camera was a manual SLR. Of all the photos I have taken over the years, my favorites are ones taken with that old camera.

My photography has graced the covers of Modern Ag Magazine and the Twin Lakes Directory. It has appeared in ads, between the pages of Fort Dodge Today and on numberous residential and commercial walls.

For several years my work was exhibited at the Iowa State Fair. Awards include an honorable mention and a second place.

The internet age

In the mid-1990s I got my first Windows computer and connected to the internet for the first time. With this computer came a scanner and the latest version of Photoshop. Windows, the internet and Photoshop opened a whole new world for me.

Web pages fascinated me. “How do they DO that?” I wondered. I set about to find out.

I first got my web feet wet with an Angelfire page builder but grew frustrated with the limitations. I learned all I could about HTML through books and websites and continued to improve my homepage. My first comprehensive site was for Twin Lakes, Iowa. It still floats in cyberspace right here.

College!

I knew there was much more to learn and more software to explore. I enrolled at Iowa Central Community College and took every web and graphics class that was offered. I received my AAS degree in Media Technology in 2007.

And beyond...

Since receiving my degree, I have continued to learn and utilize new software, including Joomla (CMS). I continue to do web design and create graphics for web and print.
